Check that the DIP-switch settings on the center-console main module are correct and fully engaged. 3. Check the wiring harness of the center-console main module for abnormalities. 4. Confirm that the ambient lighting coding and brightness coding are correct.

If an individual light displays a different color, test the three primary colors—red, blue, and green—to identify which channel is inconsistent. If red is inconsistent, check the red-light wire. If blue is inconsistent, check the blue-light wire.

It uses a replacement-style installation and synchronizes color changes with the ambient lighting. The vehicle configuration must be identified as either factory ambient lighting or an aftermarket ambient lighting system. The example below covers a vehicle with factory ambient lighting.

If the vehicle has factory ambient lighting, the illuminated front air vents require a separate driver module.

If the vehicle has an aftermarket ambient lighting system, connect the front-vent light wires to the aftermarket ambient lighting wiring. The Chinese source recommends connecting at the right-front door.

If the vehicle has factory ambient lighting but the vents do not change color after installation, check that the module model is correct. The front illuminated air-vent modules for the C-Class and GLC are not interchangeable.

If the vehicle does not have ambient lighting and only the illuminated vents are being installed, a separate driver module is required. Programming and coding are also required to enable the ambient-lighting menu.

If the colors are not synchronized, select the basic colors—red, green, and blue—one at a time. A missing color indicates a faulty light head, which must be replaced separately. If all front illuminated vents are off, check whether the main harness plug has come loose and whether the splice-pin positions are correct.

For imported models with factory ambient lighting—including standard-wheelbase C-Class, C43, C63, GLC Coupe, and GLC43—the module must be replaced with a dedicated door adapter module, ordered separately.

Use the Caoliao reference image to distinguish factory ambient lighting from an aftermarket system. If the wire colors differ, follow the source mapping: yellow (positive) to yellow; light-head red to green; light-head green to white; and light-head blue to red.

Rotating tweeters for factory ambient lighting and those for aftermarket ambient lighting must be distinguished and must not be mixed. C-Class and GLC rotating tweeters are also vehicle-specific and are not interchangeable. For the C-Class, the rotating-unit retaining tabs must be trimmed; the GLC does not require trimming.

No sound from the rotating tweeter: check the wiring connections, connector pins, and whether the original vehicle system operates normally. If only one tweeter has no sound, swap the left/right tweeter positions to determine whether the fault is in the wiring or the speaker.

Rotating-tweeter light does not illuminate: check the wiring connections, connector pins, and whether the door ambient light operates normally. If only one light is off, swap the tweeter-light positions to determine whether the fault is in the wiring or the light head.

Abnormal extension or retraction: check that the connector is secure and the wiring is connected correctly. One side rotates in the opposite direction: swap the tweeter unit, cable, or module to isolate the fault. If the unit cannot be installed, verify product-to-vehicle compatibility; C-Class and GLC units are vehicle-specific and must not be mixed.

When replacing the upper trim panel, check whether the built-in foam is positioned correctly to avoid affecting the result or requiring rework. Do not remove the built-in white foam.

Both the illuminated grille and the factory door ambient light are off: lock the vehicle and allow it to sleep for 10 minutes. Disconnect the adapter and restore the original wiring, then check operation. If normal operation returns, the adapter is faulty. If the fault remains, check the original vehicle signal and other added adapter-harness connectors.

Factory door ambient light works but the illuminated grille does not: check for a loose connector or bent pins, swap in a known-good adapter to isolate the fault, and compare the pin positions for misalignment. If mixed colors are inconsistent while single colors are normal, check the light-head marking: 16 for E213, 17 for C205, and 18 for GLC253. Replace a light head whose marking does not match the vehicle.

If the vehicle ambient lighting and illuminated grilles are all off, first confirm that the ambient lighting system itself operates normally. If the aftermarket ambient light works on one door but its illuminated grille does not, check for a loose adapter or bent pins, then swap in a known-good light head; if operation returns, the original light head is faulty.

If both the illuminated grille and ambient light on one door are off, check the added module for a loose connector and confirm that the module operates normally. If one mixed color is abnormal, verify the red, blue, and green primary colors individually. If a primary color is missing, inspect the light head and pin positions. If no primary color is missing, check whether color synchronization is required.

Different brightness between seat-back lights: check the contact between the light head and the light guide, and verify that both parts are secured correctly.

Different seat-back light colors: set the vehicle ambient lighting to the red, blue, and green primary colors and check for a missing channel. For the missing color, inspect the light head or adapter position and check whether the red, blue, or green wire has backed out, opened, or shorted.

Seat-back light does not illuminate: check the adapter wiring for an open circuit or poor contact, and confirm that the light head and light guide are secured.

1. With the vehicle locked and the key in your possession, touch the trunk switch to open the trunk. 2. For a door equipped with the corresponding handle, touch the handle sensor area to operate the function without pressing a button on the vehicle key.

Engine will not start after installation: if the KG module was replaced, reinstall the original module for comparison. If normal operation returns, replace or further inspect the added KG module. If the fault remains with the original module, inspect the installation wiring. If the KG module was not replaced, inspect the installation.

Keyless entry does not work: check four areas—operation/triggering, programming and coding, product installation, and product failure. Make sure a second key is not left inside the vehicle and that the active key is being carried. If the KG module was replaced, check whether the trunk can be opened without pressing the key while the vehicle is locked. Verify the programming, KG module, handle components, wiring, KG-module pin positions, and the correspondence between each handle and antenna. Swap components for comparison to isolate a product fault.

The vehicle key must be very close to the antenna: check the programming and coding, and make sure the antenna is not positioned against metal.
